Natsume Sōseki (夏目漱石, 9 February 1867 – 9 September 1916) was one of the founders of modern Japanese literature, novelist. His works were translated in a many languages such as English, French, Russian, Chinese, German and etc. Natsume Sōseki's major works include: “I Am Cat” (吾輩は猫である), “Botchan” (坊っちゃん), “Kokoro” (こころ), “Light and Darkness” (明暗) an unfinished novel. 
“Botchan” (jp: 坊っちゃん) is a novel written and published by Natsume Sōseki in 1906. The story is based on the author's personal experience as a teacher dispatched to Matsuyama on the island of Shikoku. “Botchan”, means young master, is the main character of the novel, and the first narrator of it. Botchan is reckless, quick-tempered, arrogant, and intolerant, and many of his travails are at least partially self-inflicted.  Let's read and enjoy the absorbing story of morality, battle for the heart and mind of Botchan between Yama Arashi and Red Shirt, and the time when Japan was accelerating westernization.
