Description

A tender addition to the #1 New York Times bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas, bridging the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin and upcoming books.

Feyre, Rhysand, and their friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly altered world beyond, recovering from the war that changed everything. But Winter Solstice is finally approaching, and with it, the joy of a hard-earned reprieve.

Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, her concern for those dearest to her deepens. They have more wounds than she anticipated-scars that will have a far-reaching impact on the future of their court.
Bridging the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin with the later books in the series, A Court of Frost and Starlight explores the far-reaching effects of a devastating war and the fierce love between friends.

Another great book in this series! Starting the next one right now!

This book felt like it was more filling space than carrying on the excitement from the first three in the series. She changes the writing style so that each chapter is spoken from one of the many characters, and nothing really happens. I will say it was a peaceful read, but, not worth the price. You could skip this novel all together and not miss a thing.

The series is good, but this book is a low point. Repetitive descriptions, and one dimensional characters with little added depth constantly fluff each other save for a bit of reprieve from some of the secondary characters. The idealized main male character is cringy by this book.

After the intensity of the previous book, this was a nice break. A quick read to see the characters after the war and before the next conflict. It doesn’t “go anywhere” but it is a great book to relax, get to know the characters better and to set the stage(s) of what’s to come. It’s not as long but still a good read in a great series.
  • Not my favorite of the series.

This book should have just been combined with book 3. Not much action in this installment.
  • Short filler

Felt like some story building g with maybe a few key nuggets, but nothing major.
  • A HEA vignette

This story is obviously fan pandering and I’m here for it. I want every second of this extended happy ending. I will defend this book and you can’t change my mind.
  • Good story but not much excitement.

Author should’ve added this to the end of the last book. Same price, for 350 pages of mindless loose ends being tied up. It took me longer to read this book than 1000 page book. 3 weeks of character development and nothing happened. Just random conversations that did not further along the story progress. Super sad this was even published.
  • Worth it

At first the set up of the book was jarring with the shifting of who was narrating. After adjusting to it and realizing it wasn’t going to be like the other books, I enjoyed it so much more. The sweet moments between characters, constant reminders that everyone heals in different ways, that there’s a community for everyone… it’s a beautiful reminder to live, to not give up yourself or others, to find your joy and work to make it happen.
